The M-1951 Field Cap was made from olive green wind resistant cotton poplin and featured a wool lined panel that in winter could be folded down to cover the ears and back of the head. Its soft construction meant that it could also be worn under the helmet liner. The M1951 cap was superseded by the baseball styled Hot Weather Field Cap.
