News Release: Fujitsu Transaction Solutions Sponsors The Wall That Heals

01 October 2006

Fujitsu Transaction Solutions Inc., headquartered in Frisco, Texas, has contributed $25,000 to become a national sponsor of The Wall That Heals, announced Jan C. Scruggs, founder and president of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund.

The Wall That Heals is a half-scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. This traveling exhibit enables many thousands of Americans to have the educational, emotional and healing experience of The Wall in their own communities.

As a national sponsor, Fujitsu Transaction Solutions makes the traveling replica possible. The company’s donation is used to defray all of the costs associated with keeping the traveling replica and its exhibits on the road.

“This latest donation is just one more way that Fujitsu Transaction Solutions has demonstrated its dedication to helping the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund fulfill our mission,” said Scruggs.

In 2002, Fujitsu Transaction Solutions donated 20 handheld computers for volunteers to use at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial to help visitors locate the names of friends and loved ones. The company also sponsored a delegation of volunteers for a return trip to Vietnam in 2004 to learn more about the country and culture that had such a significant impact on their formative years. In 2005, Fujitsu donated state-of-the-art laptops to the Memorial Fund staff and contributed an additional gift of $10,000 in software for use in the Memorial Fund’s headquarters earlier this year. Austen Mulinder, president and CEO of Fujitsu Transaction Solutions, serves on the Memorial Fund’s Corporate Council.

“The Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund is an important component of our corporate social responsibility efforts and one I take very personally,” said Mulinder. “We are proud to honor the Vietnam War veterans, especially the many veterans who work for Fujitsu and our customers, and those who volunteer their time and talents at The Wall.”

The Wall That Heals also features a Traveling Museum and Information Center. The Museum chronicles the Vietnam War era and the unique healing power of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, while the Information Center serves as a venue for people to learn about friends and loved ones lost in the war.

In addition to Fujitsu Transaction Solutions Inc., other national sponsors of The Wall That Heals include the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Charitable Trust, Federal Express, Harley-Davidson Foundation and Target Corporation.
