M1951 Field Coat
FSN
8405-255-8587
(size: Medium - Regular)
Specification
MIL-C-11448
Developed for the Korean War, the M1951 field coat was made from OG-107 water repellent and wind resistant sateen and had a zip front closure and button cuffs. It had both waist and hem drawstrings and in cold weather could be fitted with a detachable liner. A hood could be buttoned to the coat’s epaulets to provide protection against the elements for both head and face. Though they were rarely needed in Vietnam, field coats were worn in the Central Highlands where it became rather cold at night.
