Shelter Half
The Shelter Half was 154-1/4 inches long and was made from olive green water-repellent cotton duck. Equipped with snap fasteners, two shelter halves were joined together to create a a two-man tent. (A 6-man tent could be formed by joining together 6 shelter halves.) Each man was issued with a shelter half, 5
tent pegs
and a 3-section wooden
pole
. Largely superseded by the
Poncho
, the shelter half was not widely used in Vietnam.
