M33 Fragmentation Hand Grenade
The M33 "baseball" Hand Grenade was introduced to replace the
M26A1
. It had a steel body and weighed 13.9 ounces, over 2 ounces less than its predecessor. Like the M26A1 grenade, it could be thrown approximately 40 meters by the average soldier and had an effective casualty radius of 15 meters, however, the M33 could not be rifle fired.
