ConocoPhillips Donates $2 million To VVM Center
ConocoPhillips has pledged $2 million to help fund the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Center, an educational facility being built on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., said Jan C. Scruggs, founder and president of the Memorial Fund.
Park Police: Vietnam Veterans Memorial Was Vandalised
The U.S. Park Police ruled today that the oily substance spread on sections of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial and on the paving stones was an act of vandalism. Park Police spokesman Sgt. Robert Lachance stressed that the investigation is ongoing and would not offer further comment.

On Friday, September 7, National Park Service staff and volunteers discovered a light, oily and unidentified substance that was spilled over portions of some of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial’s panels and paving stones, with National Park Service (NPS) preservation and maintenance staff beginning the removal process immediately.

Thirty-six teachers from across the United States have been named to the Teach Vietnam Teachers Network, a group of educational ambassadors charged with perpetuating the lessons of the Vietnam era, said Jan C.
