M1943 Intrenching Tool

The WWII vintage M1943 folding shovel had a wooden shaft and could be fixed in three different positions. The head could be folded along the shaft for carrying in its' cover, placed at 90 degrees for use as a pick or fixed in the normal shovel position for digging foxholes and filling sand bags. The M1943 tool was superseded by the M1951 model.
