M6 Bayonet

The M6 Bayonet attached to the M14 rifle and was intended for use in close combat, the guarding of prisoners, or as a general knife. It had a 6-3/4 inch steel blade, a molded plastic grip and a barrel ring on the cross-guard that passed over the rifle's flash suppressor. The M6 also had a spring loaded release latch at the base of the handle. When not in use the bayonet was carried in the M8A1 scabbard.
