The H back design nylon M1967 suspenders were 2ΒΌ inches wide and had padded shoulders. Both shoulder pads had a metal loop to affix the supporting strap from an ammunition case and a web keeper that was typically used to attach a first aid pouch.
The M1967 design also featured snap hooks on both shoulder pads that could be clipped to the butt pack, enabling it to be worn on the back without the need for adapter straps.
Unlike the M1956 suspenders both the front and rear straps connected to the belt via snap hooks. However, M1967 load carrying system's construction was such that its' components could be interchanged with the equivalent parts from the earlier canvas M1956 webbing.
