The 2nd version of the cotton M1956 pouch improved upon the original design with the addition of a drain hole and a stitched edging around the storage compartment. Like its
predecessor it had a single slide keeper on the back that was used to attach it to either the
pistol belt or the web keeper on top of the padded portion of the
suspenders.
