The 1968 version of the Marine Corps M1941 Haversack featured a nylon pack, which was superior to the original cotton duck in durability, water repellency and ease of maintenance. Though the main body was made from nylon, cotton webbing was still used for all the straps. This updated haversack was eventually replaced by the USMC M1967 Combat Pack.
