The 44th Medical Brigade provided medical support to personnel from the U.S Army and other Free World Military Assistance Forces (FWMAF) serving in Vietnam. Their shoulder sleeve insignia was officially approved on 5th October 1966 and featured a gold star superimposed over a maroon star.1
